Poslednji sigurni podaci o gnežđenju ždralova u Srbiji datiraju sa početka 20. veka (okolina Novog Sada i Mošorina u Vojvodini, kao i južno od Save i Dunava na Vlasinskom blatu), ali je moguće da je zbog slabe istraženosti gnežđenja bilo i kasnije. Međutim od sredine 20. veka sa sigurnoću možemo reći da ždral nije gnezdarica Srbije. Ipak, ova vrsta je krajem 20. i početkom 21. veka redovna i brojna prolaznica na seobi i zimovalica u Srbiji. Najvažnije okupljalište ždralova u Srbiji je jezero Slano Kopovo kod Novog Bečeja u Banatu, gde se svake godine u vreme seobe okuplja više hiljada ptica (i do 20.000), a pojedinih godina prezimljavaju u većem broju u severnim predelima Bačke i Banata (Ptice Srbije, kritički spsak vrsta, Novi Sad 2015).
Nekoliko migratornih stanica u našem kraju gde se tokom prolećne i jesenje migracije zadržavaju (odmaraju i hrane) u relativno većem broju (od nekoliko desetina do više stotina ptica) su Pečena slatina u Barandi, Rakitaš kod Opova, kao i njive između Barande, Sakula i Idvora.
Ždral (Grus grus) pripada porodici Gruidae, koja broji 15 vrsta rasprostranjenih u Severnoj Americi, Evropi, Aziji, Africi i australiji. Evropska vrsta Grus grus dužine je od 96 do 119 cm, raspona krila do dva metra. Ima duge noge i vrat koji je u letu ispružen. Odrasla, zrela jedinka na glavi i vratu ima belu prugu, a na vrhu glave crvenu mrlju. Naseljava severne delove Evrope, a gnezdi se u močvarama i tresavama okruženim četinarskim šumama. Gnezda gradi na zemlji, sakrivena u vegetaciji. Hrani se raznovrsnom hranom biljnog porekla i sitnim životinjama. Prilikom seoba zadržava se na ustaljenim odmaralištima duž migratornih puteva (plitka jezera, močvare, slatine) gde provode noć, a tokom dana se hrane po okolnim poljoprivrednim površinama. Iz ovih krajeva migriraju prema jugozapadu do kraških polja u Dinarskim planinanama, odakle nastavljaju ka Italiji i severnoj Africi.
Ždral je zaštićena vrsta i nalazi se na IUCN-ovoj Crvenoj listi ugroženih vrsta, ptica je od posebnog značaja za zaštitu u Evropi, a po našem zakonu zaštićen je prema Pravilniku o proglašenju i zaštiti strogo zaštićenih i zaštićenih divljih vrsta biljaka, životinja i gljiva. To podrazumeva da se ne sme loviti, pucati u njega, kao ni uznemiravati na njihovim staništima tokom seoba.

USVOJENE NOVE MERE ZA SUZBIJANJE EPIDEMIJE COVID-19
Beograd, 21. novembar 2020;
Vlada Republike Srbije usvojila je nove mere za suzbijanje epidemije izazvane bolešću COVID–19, čija primena počinje od utorka, 24. novembra 2020. godine.
Nove protivepidemijske mere su:
– Skraćenje radnog vremena do 18 časova restoranima, kafićima, barovima, klubovima, kladionicama i tržnim centrima.
– Obavezno i bezuslovno korišćenje lične zaštitne opreme (nošenje zaštitne maske) u zatvorenom prostoru, kao i na otvorenom prostoru u onim situacijama gde se ne mogu izbeći međuljudski kontakti.
– Zabrana svih javnih okupljanja s prisustvom više od 5 (pet) osoba u zatvorenom i na otvorenom prostoru. Od ove mere izuzeti su radne organizacije, školske ustanove, prodavnice, tržni centri i slični objekti, za koje važi propisano ograničenje broja prisutnih osoba u svakom trenutku u odnosu na kvadraturu objekta (minimum 4 m2 po osobi.
– Omogućavanje rada od kuće svim zaposlenima kod kojih to radni proces dopušta.
– Stroga kontrola obaveze nošenja zaštitne maske u vozilima javnog prevoza, uz ograničenje maksimalnog broja putnika u vozilu na polovinu deklarisanog kapaciteta vozila.
– Stroga kontrola sprovođenja kućne izolacije, kućnog karantina (samoizolacije), kao i svih ostalih protivepidemijskih mera koje su na snazi.
Navedene mere su oročene na period od 10 dana i biće iznova razmotrene u skladu u sa aktuelnom epidemiološkom situacijom.
Vlada koristi i ovu priliku da još jednom zamoli i najsnažnije apeluje na sve građane da se ponašaju odgovorno prema sebi i ostalim sugrađanima.
Sve usvojene mere imaju za cilj isključivo očuvanje života i zdravlja građana.
