U sklopu obeležavanja kampanje „16 dana aktivizma protiv nasilja nad ženama, Opština Opovo se simboličnim gestom, uključivanjem narandžaste rasvete koja noću osvetljava Galeriju „Jovan Popović“ priključila nacionalnoj kampanji.
Republika Srbija i ove godine učestvuje u globalnoj kampanji „16 dana aktivizma protiv nasilja nad ženama“ koju obeležava 1700 organizacija u preko 100 država sveta. Kampanja počinje 25. novembra Međunarodnim danom borbe protiv nasilja nad ženama i završava se 10. decembra međunarodnim danom ljudskih prava.
Kao deo ove inicijative, organizuju se događaji u zemljama širom sveta, kao i u Srbiji, a znamenitosti u gradovima su osvetljene narandžastom bojom, kako bi se skrenula pažnja na ovo važno pitanje. Već nekoliko godina, u okviru ove kampanje osvetljeni su mnogi znameniti objekti uključujući piramide u Egiptu, Empire State Building, sediše Ujedinjenih nacija u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama, ali i objekti u našem glavnom gradu i brojnim gradovima širom Srbije.
Nasilje nad ženama i devojčicama je ogroman društveni problem i samo zajedničkim delovanjem možemo stati na put toj pošasti, kaže se u saopštenju Koordinacionog tela za rodnu ravnopravnost Vlade Republike Srbije.

Pred nama su novogodišnji praznici koje verovatno nećemo proslaviti sa osmesima na licima, ali svakako sa željama da se pandemija koronavirusa što pre završi i vratimo se normalnom, svakodnevnom životu.
Ipak to nije razlog da se kao i prethodnih godina javni prostor ne ukrasi novogodišnjom rasvetom i ulepša duh božićnih i novogodišnjih praznika, smatraju u lokalnoj samoupravi.
Montaža novogodišnje javne rasvete počela je danas u Sefkerinu, a nastaviće se u Opovu, Barandi i Sakulama.
Nažalost, i ove jeseni aktivno se primenjuje praksa spaljivanja žetvenih ostataka širom Vojvodine, pa tako i u ataru naše opštine. Naša ekipa je fotografisala parcelu između Opova i Sefkerina na kojoj smo zatekli posledice spaljivanja. Spaljivanje žetvenih ostataka na otvorenom je strogo zabranjeno po osnovu više zakona, ali za prestanak ovakve zabranjene i izuzetno štetne prakse potrebno je jačanje svesti javnosti, razumevanja da je savesno i odgovorno ponašanje pojedinca osnov naše bezbednosti i zaštite biodiverziteta Srbije.
Nažalost, kod naših poljoprivrednika uvrženo je mišljenje da se paljenjem poboljšava kvalitet zemljišta što je, naprotiv, potpuno pogrešno. Ne samo da ne poboljšava kvalitet već je i veoma štetno sa više aspekata. Osim što postoji opasnost da se vatra proširi (a kao što vidimo dešava se previše često), paljenjem žetvenih ostataka uništava se organska materija koja je neophodna za očuvanje plodnosti zemljišta. U procesu sagorevanja stvaraju se anaerobni – uslovi bez kiseonika, koji dovode do uništavanja mnogobrojnih korisnih mikroorganizama u gornjim slojevima zemljišta za čije je razmnožavanje neophodan kiseonik te se na taj način remeti se bioravnoteža zemljišta koja se godinama stvarala. Ovakvo zemljište ne može više da se regeneriše, vremenom gubi kvalitetna svojstva što neminovno dovodi do slabijeg prinosa.
Drugi, takođe veoma značajan aspekt štetnog delovanja paljenja žetvenih ostataka su bezbednosni razlozi i mogućnost pojave požara sa nesagledivim posledicama njihovog širenja.
Treća štetna posledica ogleda se u zagađenju životne sredine i emisiji štetnih gasova u atmosferu nastalih prilikom sagorevanja.
Takođe, podsećamo da je pored paljenja žetvenih ostataka zabranjeno i paljenja lišća na javnim površinama koje se inače redovno praktikuje!!! Kršenje ovih zakonskih normi biće sankcionisano od strane komunalne inspekcije.
